WEST LEBANON, NY.

First of all I would like to thank Mike McFarlin, Senior Director of Production for SFX, for inviting me to come to the show in West Lebanon, NY. on July 18, 2001. I took my good friend Aaron Stratton and my two boys Alex and Tony, we had a great time. We left home at 1:00pm and did not arrive to the track till 6:00pm. That didn't discourage us however from really enjoying Mike's hospitality. We had VIP passes in the press box, which as near as I can tell was about four stories above the track.

Again the show started just before dark and although the track was well lit, my pictures got worse as the night got darker. The show consisted of Monster Trucks, a ride truck, Tuff Trucks and Cars, the Green Momba jet car, and for a nice change, young kids on Quads. The kids were about 10 yrs. old and younger and did a fine job racing around the track on their little quads.

There were about 40 Tuff Trucks and Cars. They beat them up really bad and put on a hell of a show. The ride truck is the first shot below, I'm not sure if it had a name, and I think it was a local truck. It was pretty ruff as ride trucks go but still seemed to be drawing a crowd of young people wanting to ride it. Then there were eight of the most famous trucks in the world putting on a fantastic display of car crushing horse power. My hat's of to them because most of them raced in Bloomsburg, Pa. Friday through Sunday, then hauled there rigs to West Lebanon for the Monday through Wednesday shows and John Seasock told me they had two more shows to do that weekend. So for those that think it is all fun and glamor, just think what these guys go through to bring this sport to the fans.

If you saw my coverage of Bloomsburg, you saw the jet truck that was there. Well that one burnt the paint of the cars in spectacular fashion, but the Green Momba cut the car in half with the heat and force coming out of it. There were sparks flying like the 4th of July behind the burning heap for about a Football field's length. This was my second time seeing the Green Momba in action, the first was about 10 years ago in Weadsport, NY.

Again I highly recommend you to go and see an SFX show, you wont be disappointed.
