R/C TRUCKS

I've been asked by several people to add an R/C section. Well since I'm getting back into it myself, I decided why not. Understand that this being a Monster Truck site. I will only add Monster R/Cs. If you have one that you would like to share with the world, send me a photo and description. You may see it wind up here. I'll start off with some shots of mine. But I'm not going to redo what is already on my artwork site, so just click on the picture to see them.

The next trucks are the one's my sons and I have. I just bought Alex the Traxxas E-maxx. He had it 2 weeks before it landed wrong off a ramp and broke in half. I'm told this is common for the maxx trucks. Simple solution is to buy aluminum skid plates and bulkheads, which we are waiting for the delivery now.

I bought Tony the Kyosho Twin Force. We added the E-maxx speed controller and my old Super Pete (Bullhead) body. This truck has a wheelie bar, which allows for some awesome Bigfoot style wheelies up to 30 feet so far. It handles the ramp jumps very well.

This is Tony's with the Super Pete body. The Pete blew the grill out on a jump so Tony put this Impala body on it.

Tony also has a couple older, smaller R/Cs.

I bought me the Tamiya TXT-1. I added the E-maxx speed controller, dual batteries, Juggernaut 2 tires, and the Trinity Monster Maxx Pro Modified Motors for the E-maxx. This truck has an awesome 8 inches of articulation, but doesn't handle jumps at all. It has awesome 5 ton top loader axles hidden behind stupid ugly skid plates that hold the steering servos. Bad design, taking away from the looks of the only true monster truck R/C I've found.

I took the truck apart, built my own chasis, added extensions to the drive shafts, lengthened the truck 3 inches, took off the stock plastic shocks and added aluminum shocks, and built a wheelie bar. The truck is considerably lighter and faster than stock. Stock the truck is supposed to run one battery and stock motors. With the Emaxx speed controller, I am running two batteries, and the Monster motors. In a full throttle straight run the truck carries the front left tire about 8 inches off the ground. I have ruined 3 metal steering servos in about 6 runs, ripped out the front drive shaft, and my four link bars are separating. Back to the drawing board.

My brother Dan Taft just recently called wanting some advice on gas Monsters. I have not gone gas yet so wasn't much help. I pointed out a few that I thought were the best and he decide on a KILLER Savage.

Then yesterday he bought this used T-maxx off Ebay and sent me a picture. After playing a bit I think I need to go gas and Dan and I are talking about building a track to run them on next summer. Should be a lot of fun.

Here are shots of the 2 trucks after new bodies and new tires on the Savage.
